Hans Hansen’s photography clearly deals with the reduction to simplicity, a simplicity which is almost a severity. This aspect alone doesn’t do the probably most important German product and object photographer justice though. With his unique view he places objects into a new light and provides them with an image, which makes us realize what these objects, mostly everyday products, represent.

He uses his own approach for perspective and distribution of light, a system of order and arrangement which he created. By doing so, he can, with an incredible precision, translate the essence of the captured objects into the two-dimensional dimension, simply and direct, subtly and altogether sensual. These objects must certainly have a soul, whose true poetry we can only conceive in Hansen’s imagery.

The «Schwarze Montag» welcomes spring with large-format photos by Hans Hansen from March 30 until May 2, 2015. On March 30, 2015, at 6 pm, Hans Hansen will introduce his work.
