Today, September 1, 2014, from 6 p.m. «Schwarzer Montag» opens it's doors at the Westflügel in Zurich with the project «Fan» by the american photographer Rian Dundon.

«Fan» is the story of a young photographer (Rian Dundon) on the road in China working for TIME.com, when he is offered a job as a Chinese actress’ English teacher.  Soon, Rian Dundon, a Californian, meets the Chinese with the dazzling name Fan Bingbing and her manager Mu Xiaoguang. He takes the job on condition that he is allowed to make a photo reportage of her. It’s not long before they are on their way to a beauty contest in the coastal town of Qingdao.

«It was madness, Beatlemania», remembers Rian Dundon. Mu drew him aside and said:  «I told you I would show you her power!» Mu had been the one who had turned Fan into an idol while Fan played her part. Rian Dundon stayed with the touring Fan Bingbing for nine months teaching her English – and taking pictures of her and of the world she lives in.

«Fan» is shown until October 4, 2014. The Westflügel, Viaduktstrasse 21, 8005 Zurich  is open from Monday to Friday, 12:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday is closed.
