Experienced legal experts give an overview over the legal bases of the Swiss media and advertising law as well as copyright laws for any questions concerning images (rights of use, personal rights and much more). Practical examples of typical problems from a photographer’s everyday working life provide a user-oriented insight into the subject. The workshop will be held in German.

During the one-day workshop the participants will learn about the aspects of picture copyrights, especially in photography as well as the right to one’s own image as the protection of personality rights and the ethical media guidelines point out when dealing with images from contemporary history. Theory is supplemented with the latest and practical examples from a photographer’s everyday working life. The participants can send their own practical examples and questions beforehand, which will then be discussed in plenary during the workshop.

Target audience
The workshop is addressed to people working in photojournalism, in advertising or a different visual sector and would like to be informed about the legal aspects of photography.
