Conversation with PAOLO WOODS & GABRIELE GALIMBERTI | The Heavens Annual Report | August 26, 2016

A guest is relaxing in the swimming pool on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the skyline of the «Central», the financial district of Singapore, behind him. – For three years the Italian photographers Paolo Woods and Gabriele Galimberti travelled to the world’s tax havens such as the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands or Singapore. They were looking for traces and tangible protagonists of the mostly invisible and generally virtual offshore operations. The result of this visual research is The Heavens Annual Report showing and questioning different aspects of the mostly legal but morally highly questionable black economy.

On Friday, August 26, 2016, Paolo Woods and Gabriele Galimberti will tell their stories of these places where most things are being kept in the dark. In cooperation with the COALMINE Forum for Documentary Photography, KEYSTONE presents a conversation of the two photographers with Serge Michel, journalist for «Le Monde». We’re expecting a stimulating discussion on the Panama Papers, tax havens and making the invisible visible.
