On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 12.15 p.m. to 1.45 p.m. Associated Press AP correspondent Kathy Gannon, who is also the keynote speaker at the opening of the World Press Photo 16 in Zurich, will be talking to Barbara Basting, head of visual arts of the city of Zurich, about her work as a war correspondent in Afghanistan and Pakistan, at the KEYSTONE Foyer on Grubenstrasse 45, 8045 Zurich, 4th floor.

The photographer Anja Niedringhaus posts «Back in Kabul with Kathy Gannon» on her Facebook wall on March 8, 2014. A few days later she posts an image of her Canadian colleague, who has also become a close companion and friend: Kathy Gannon, surrounded by Afghan men, whom she listens to attentively, equipped with pen and paper. On April 8, 2014, both of them got caught in an ambush while covering the elections in Afghanistan, Kathy Gannon survived severely injured.

Anja Niedringhaus and Kathy Gannon were our guests during our «A Conversation With…» on August 27, 2013. The discussion was lead by Barbara Basting. When we asked Barbara Basting if she would conduct another conversation with Kathy Gannon, she spontaneously accepted.
